What is your goal?
These are important questions before approaching a Reverse Vault and how you approach the obstacle will determine the outcome. Remember the Kong Vault? The "dive entry" equates to a further exit distance and that the closer you are to the vaulting surface the higher you will be launched. So adjust accordingly to each challenge.
As for hand placement, if you perform the 2 handed technique use the second hand (posting arm) to further push yourself in the direction you wish to go. If you choose the 1 hand technique, it seems to be beneficial to start twisting prior to the hand making contact.
