Co-Founder and Media Producer of Tranquil Movement
Tranquilized by MovementThe word tranquil is a very unique term that describes a very distinct state of being. Breathing... relaxing... and just Being. To be completely immersed in what the purest of moments has to offer, the Now. Movement... When you look at a human being, an animal, an inanimate object, you’ll notice that not one thing in this entire existence is ever standing still. Everything in one way or another is always changing, always moving, or adapting to the very next moment that is continuous and infinite. When the words come together Tranquil Movement, a deeper connection comes into play. Many times when people think about the idea of enlightenment or ultimate realizations, a common image that pops up in mind is the lone person sitting and meditating for hours, days, months, years... until finally something enriching and soothing comes to the soul. Even in sitting still, the breath with-in us never stops flowing, the heart is consistently pumping. With Tranquil Movement, Movement is meditation. With this premise that nothing is ever sitting still, nothing ever stops changing, Tranquil Movement embodies this philosophy to it's very core. Why not find a deeper connection through life by searching deep with in ourselves to find our own unique natural movements? | What was your sport of origin? My sport of origin is martial arts, as a kid I was always watching power rangers and ninja turtles. When I was about 10 I did some very simple judo and juijutsu for about a month before I moved to Colorado Springs. I really got hooked at age 12 doing a mixed martial training karate then moved into the Bujinkan Ninjutsu styles of training and haven’t stopped since. Like martial arts, my passion for freerunning is equally as important. By blending the two together I find myself training in the art of reacting to conflict. In life we have our natural instincts of fight or flight when faced with fear or conflict. To turn those instincts into mastered skill is my goal. If I choose to fight an opposition... martial arts and mastery of combat, if I choose to run from an opposition... parkour/freerunning and being a master of the given environment. How many Years have you been practicing Movement? Well, basically the second I came out of the womb I was moving, ha! But when I first became aware of the parkour & freerunning world, that started back when I when I was in high school around the age of 16 or 17. I was a cross country runner in high school so the idea of expressing yourself while you ran was amazingly attractive. Ten Years LaterMy phone will be ringing off the hook with gigs in freerunning, martial arts, parkour, tricking, film editing or production. Nice cameras are on the way too. |
